Job Description & Qualifications:

Job Summary

Execute strategic initiatives to improve the HD Supply associate workplace experience. Manage and supervise repair and maintenance operations to ensure safe and secure HD Supply properties. Responsible for the coordination and direction of all maintenance functions, including equipment maintenance and repair, facilities and utilities maintenance and act as contractor and vendor liaison.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops policies and procedures to manage facility operations. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies.

  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates general repairs, space utilization, and remodeling projects.

  • Oversees the inspection of facilities to document damage and determine repair needs. Anticipates and responds to facility related operational issues. Investigate complaints and safety violations, and resolve problems.

  • Directs and coordinates the activities of support roles at multiple locations.

  • Maintains records of special permits, inspections, hazards, compliance issues, and maintenance and operating costs.

  • Maintains documents, contracts and vendor lists. Prepares and review service contracts and billing.

  • Maintains ongoing relationships with all departments to keep abreast of their service needs and to be able to anticipate problems. Collaborates with other business unit representatives, and peers, in support of enterprise decisions, goals and objectives.

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.

  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles and practical experience.

  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age

  • Must pass the Drug Test

  • Must pass the Background Check

  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 7+ years experience in related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

  • 7+ years facilities maintenance experience in a corporate environment

  • Experience managing construction, service and maintenance vendors

  • Experience with materials, methods, and the tools involved in repair and maintenance.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Project, AutoCAD, Evolve and SAP
