Job Summary

Responsible for leading and coordinating assigned creative projects on a day-to-day basis, and serving as a liaison between internal customers and external vendors. Contribute to the development of new concepts, themes, and look and feel of projects.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Works independently on the development of original designs or adaptations requiring specialized experience and industry related experience.

  • Develops and maintains creative style guides for use by internal and external vendors to ensure proper usage and branding of every project.

  • Develops creative solutions, brand campaigns, production timelines, creative designs and print recommendations to customers.

  • Manages multiple projects including complex and time intensive jobs. Produces items such as marketing and direct mail projects, guides, tabloids, wraps, direct marketing projects, brochures, postcards, tradeshow and retouches digital photography as needed.

  • Works with internal customers with the goal of increased sales for the company by producing sales tools and branded product and company campaigns.

  • Exercises due diligence by actively participating in original design and creative concepts for company initiatives, special projects, and company sponsored events.

  • Coordinates projects that are critical elements to HD Supply's growth.

Nature and Scope

  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.

  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age

  • Must pass the Drug Test

  • Must pass the Background Check

  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and Minimum of 4 years experience designing large-scale, corporate web sites with an emphasis on functional design and content integration. Excellent HTML and CSS skills. (Knowledge of DHTML, XML, and JavaScript a plus).

  • 3+ years of Flash design and development experience including Flash video integration/optimization experience.

  • Experience using and designing for a web content management system (WCMS).
