Job Description & Qualifications:
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components for mid- to large-sized projects. Provide mentoring to junior team members.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Performs installation, configuration, maintenance, debugging, and support for systems software/hardware, including implementation support for multiple infrastructure platforms.
Tunes platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved. Performs root cause analyses for service interruption recoveries. Creates preventative measures.
Identifies and tests processes for automation. Performs configuration prior to the quality assurance process. Conducts quality assurance reviews to ensure standards and best practices are followed.
Develops expert knowledge of industry best practices and uses that knowledge to provide technical support to project team members.
Provides 24/7 on-call support for assigned systems, including investigating and troubleshooting problems.
Interacts with requestors and architects to define system requirements. Translates the requirements into technical specifications. Interchangeably works with technical business-oriented teams.

Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the results expected. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience
Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details:
5-8 years of systems engineering experience preferred.
Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and organizational skills.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Experience operating with minimal supervision while using experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

5Understanding of General Networking including TCP/IP, network hardware, CAT5e and CAT6 wiring, Power over Ethernet, Wireless networking, Network Firewall concepts, etc.
5Remote support experience, including remote-control, screen-sharing, and blind-over-the-phone support.
5Microsoft Office, including: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio
5Special Knowledge a plus:
Custom print queue software
Custom hot-folder type functionality
Electrical and/or mechanical experience.
Windows symbolic linking
Deep Freeze software
Acronis Imaging software
Flexi Design software
Adobe Creative Suite Software
Any Manufacturing equipment experience.
Familiar with an Order-to-Cash process
Wallboard system support.
UPS (power) system experience.
Any is a plus
Ability to pick up and carry 50lbs for 40 feet.
