Job Description & Qualifications:
Directs and coordinates operations for efficient warehouse storage which includes; loading, packaging, and shipping orders for stores and customers as well as monitoring and resolving inventory discrepancies and handling damaged or defective merchandise for return to vendors.
Responsible for directing all operation activities in a distribution center environment of approximately 150M or greater in revenue. Responsible for supporting the distribution network by managing redistribution activities of $20M inventory or greater. Responsible for operational excellence and process improvement initiatives; ensuring customers expectations are exceeded; and talent acquisition, development and retention of associates. Operate as a strategic partner with logistics and supply chain management in establishing and adhering to operating budgets.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Provides effective leadership of others to ensure efficient distribution operations and adherence to policy, procedure and process excellence. Ensures well being of associates through compliance with all safety and Hazmat rules and regulations, legal regulations and human resource policies.
Responsible for talent management including selection, development, and performance management of direct and indirect reports.
Ensures appropriate staffing levels by effectively forecasting resources needed to meet service, financial and operational requirements.
Oversees carrier services and dedicated delivery processes. Partner with support staff to ensure compliance with all DOT regulations.
Develops annual operating budgets in support of the company's financial goals and responsible for P&L management. Complete cost justification and determine ROI.
Controls cost through process improvement initiatives, productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of space and protection of stored materials. Ensures protection and accuracy of inventory by adhering to all inventory control processes and procedures.
Ensures the well-being our associates and environment by ensuring a culture of safety awareness and strict compliance of all EHS and Hazmat policies and procedures.
Career Level Dimensions
Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 7+ years experience in related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Environmental Job Requirements
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.
Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details:
Bachelor's degree in distribution and logistics and management experience in large complex multi-shift big box distribution center environment.
Previous experience in transportation and delivery route management of large fleet of delivery vehicles, inlcuding remote linehaul locations.
Import/export experience or redistribution of inventory among multiple locations preferred.
