Job Summary

Technical expert who collaborates with technology/infrastructure staff to identify data relationships and functional requirements; analyzes and resolves issues related to information flow and content. Provides expertise around data modeling.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Defines, designs, and oversees the systems and applications architecture for both current and future business applications.

  • Evaluates new and emerging technologies and developmental methodologies to find faster, cost effective, and more reliable solutions for existing and proposed systems.

  • Partners with infrastructure, application, and quality teams to ensure that applications meet business requirements, are well documented, and have processes in place for ongoing support and maintenance.

  • Scopes and implements appropriate process improvement tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean Sigma, and ITIL.

  • Drives standard and efficient applications and infrastructure design by aligning the infrastructure roadmap with the application technology strategy, hardware vendor roadmaps, and service capabilities. Nature and Scope

  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.

  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process.

  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel. Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age

  • Must pass the Drug Test

  • Must pass the Background Check

  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details:

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration, performance design/tuning, backup, recovery, high availability, and security.

  • Extensive Knowledge of SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014

  • Experience administering SQL Server Databases utilized by enterprise systems such as Sharepoint, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and Microsoft Great Plains

  • Expert in system and SQL tuning. Highly skilled in trouble shooting performance related production issues

  • Expert with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

  • Experienced in implementing and supporting SQL Server Always On Availability Groups as well as SQL Server Mirroring

  • Experienced in defining and recommending best practices and principles of data architecture.

  • Have technical leadership skills in data architectural concepts and methodologies.
