Job Summary

Organize and coordinate bid process.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Completes basic bids.

  • Tracks the bid process to ensure timely completion and that all deadlines are met.

  • Assists other departments in preparation and processing of bids as needed to help drive sales.

  • Maintains tracking mechanism to track bids through various stages of completion.

  • Provides or delegates administrative functions as needed for bid process.

Nature and Scope

  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.

  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior co worker or supervisor.

  • None

Work Environment

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED,strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2 - 5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year experience identifying, qualifying, tracking and/or responding to business contract Opportunities for potential federal/state government or educational institution customers

  • One (1) year experience utilizing bid search engines and/or subscription services

  • Experience crossing customer product descriptions to company product offerings

  • Experience working with Microsoft Access and Excel

  • Experience performing data entry and monitoring/tracking of tasks in accordance with a written process

  • Comfortable taking initiative and working with cross-functional groups to successfully complete project tasks
