Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsible for the coordination and completion of Agile projects and overseeing end-to-end project management activities. Ensure that development teams are practicing/following core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Serves asfacilitator for an agile development team. Maintains scrum tools (backlog, charts, etc. Facilitates tool management and optimization.

  • Organizes and facilitates meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other scrum-related activities for deliver team.

  • Identifies and removes impediments in software development to ensure that assigned sprints and projects are completed on time. Facilitates agile ceremonies and planning of releases.

  • Partners with various teams to resolve resource conflicts, clarifies priorities, and understands features and capabilities. Works closely with the agile product owners, solution architects and delivery teams.

  • Shields team from unscheduled external influences. Proactively identifies and mitigates risks using agile best practices and project data.

  • Ensures that stakeholders are informed of risks and impacts to the team’s effectiveness.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.

  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process.

  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to lift or move light articles.

  • Light travel may be required. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years agile experience. Scrum Master Certification (CSM).

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification.

  • Experience with technology and/or product development teams.

  • Experienced in Agile/Scrum methodology, and the development of associated project artifacts.

  • Experience in financial services and a high-security environment preferred.
