HD Supply Sr. Manager, Finance in Atlanta, Georgia
Manage the financial planning, reporting and analytical processes and communicate/coordinate efforts to establish and achieve financial targets. This position partners very closely with key corporate leaders across the organization advising on optimizing investments: Capex and OpEx and validating achievement of required benefits/ returns (ROI).
Driving continuous process improvement is a key feature of this role and given the current integration focused on combining/ consolidating HD Pro and HD Supply into the largest distributor of MRO products in North America, there will be plenty of opportunities to have an impact on the organization.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Identifies and implements process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of department objectives. Participates in preparation of the annual budgets at the functional level, reviews monthly expenditures and ensures that budgetary goals are met and understanding/ communicating any variance drivers to senior leadership.
Frequent partnership and engagement with C-level leaders on operational performance and decision making. Reports actual performance against the most recent forecast. Works in tandem with the leaders of the businesses and functional areas to ensure a detailed, yet simplistic approach to capturing performance.
Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform any financial function and activity; utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures operational processes and procedures are in compliance with established policies.
Develops and supports a strategic alliance with business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing our competitive advantage. Facilitates cross-functional communication with partners.
Nature and Scope
This position typically reports to a Director of Finance and has 2-4 direct reports and may include multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.
Requires identification of appropriate methods and interpersonal styles to develop, motivate, and guide others to attain successful outcomes; providing coaching, feedback and developmental guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities.
Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience. May recommend/make decisions regarding new programs/initiatives that have significant impact to the business and carry consequences in unsuccessful endeavors.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field and experience leading a team . May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
