Job Description & Qualifications
Responsible for ensuring the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect associates, visitors and property. Detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts on or near the premises which may be a threat to the associates, visitors or the property.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Patrols assigned area on foot to ensure personal, building, and equipment security. Watches for irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations.
Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; approaches suspicious person and/or notifies police as appropriate and contacts Manager
Enforces the rules and policies of the property, contacting the Security Manager when violations occur.
Apprises and alerts violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with associates and guests. Answers questions and assists guests and associates. Provides escort as necessary.
Completes reports and activity logs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope
Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details
Familiarity with access control systems, Honeywell Pro-Watch preferred.
Demonstrated English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking. Bilingual preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule required.
