Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsible for supervising and coordinating work activities of installers. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, HD Supply will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Manages and coordinates performance of installation activities.

  • Assigns workers to perform installation activities.

  • Confers with management, quality control, and customers to coordinate work activities and resolve problems.

  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and lays out reference points for associates.

  • Monitors operations, and inspects, tests, and measures completed work to verify conformance to standards and specifications. Establishes or adjusts work methods and procedures to meet production schedules utilizing knowledge of machine capacity, equipment, and personnel.

  • Trains associates in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and work aids, such as blueprints, hand tools, and test equipment. Patrols work area and examines tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of safety rules.

  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as employment, performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.

  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles and practical experience.

  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

  • Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 7+ years experience in related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
